Recently, throughout the Brazilian economic scenario, several changes have occurred in an extremely short period of time. In this sense, the Brazilian population often ends up facing new terms that are difficult to understand. One of them is even linked to the extraordinary benefit, which has been creating many doubts in people because it is a different benefit.
In view of this, firstly, it is essential to make it clear that only by the name of the benefit can it be seen that this aid is paid to a specific and select group of individuals. In this way, we can emphasize two prominent groups: the one corresponding to the Extraordinary Benefit for the Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI) and the correspondingBrazil Aid.

From this perspective, in relation to the MEI modality, in order to reduce the impact of the pandemic on life of entrepreneurs, the federal government chose to provide an extraordinary benefit to the category. Thus, the benefit in question was released on the last 9th of July, and, according to the “Mapa de Empresa” bulletin, today, there are about 13 million MEIs in Brazil, meaning that 70% of business activities in Brazil are driven by this category.
With regard to the Extraordinary Assistance of the Auxílio Brasil, this was instituted through a Provisional Measure (MP) that was approved in the Federal Chamber and in the Federal Senate and, later, received the sanction of the current president of the republic, Jair Messias Bolsonaro (PL). In summary, this extraordinary benefit is linked to the PEC known as PEC Kamikaze, or Electoral PEC, which boosted the benefit to 600 reais by the end of 2022.
