The names of dinosaurs are given by scientists who study these animals from the past. They are called paleontologists. Every time a species of dinosaur is discovered and described, it is given what we call a scientific name, which is also given to modern plants and animals. In the past, paleontologists used languages such as Latin or Greek for baptism, but nowadays even indigenous languages are used in the case of dinosaurs that inhabited the Brazilian territory. The names refer to a characteristic that this animal had or even the place where it lived. The researcher who helped discover it often ends up entering the scientific name as well.
