Michael Jackson's first solo hit was “Ben,” an Oscar-winning song in 1973. At just 14 years old, the singer performed at the ceremony and moved the audience. It was to the sound of the hit “Billie Jean”, which was originally called “Not My Lover” — a phrase that is in the chorus — that Jackson immortalized one of its most famous brands: the dance step dubbed moonwalk, when it slides backwards as if it had wheels in the shoes.
