The Ministry of Labor and Social Security recently reported that 301,505 drivers will receive the taxi driver allowance, known as BEm-Taxista (Emergency Benefit for Taxi Drivers). The first round of payments is scheduled for August 16th.

The aid was launched by PEC Kamikaze, which declared a state of emergency in the country, adding 41.25 billion reais to government spending above the defined ceiling. After the extension, the deadline for cities to send information ended on August 2nd. As a result, 3,119 municipalities forwarded the number of beneficiaries to the Ministry. The data is processed by the federal government company Dataprev.
