More than 300,000 taxi drivers will receive R$ 2,000 this month

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security recently reported that 301,505 drivers will receive the taxi driver allowance, known as BEm-Taxista (Emergency Benefit for Taxi Drivers). The first round of payments is scheduled for August 16th.

Although the aid is 1,000 reais, they will receive twice as much this month, referring to the July and August quotas. Keep reading and check out the August taxi driver allowance payment date.

The aid was launched by PEC Kamikaze, which declared a state of emergency in the country, adding 41.25 billion reais to government spending above the defined ceiling. In addition, it is also seen as a government strategy to increase the popularity of the incumbent president and candidate for re-election.

Municipalities had deadlines for informing beneficiaries

After the extension, the deadline for cities to send information ended on August 2nd. As a result, 3,119 municipalities forwarded the number of beneficiaries to the Ministry. The data is processed by the federal government company Dataprev.

However, the municipalities that did not meet the deadline will be able to send the data later, but the workers in these cities will not receive the two installments on the 16th, but in the following fortnight (30th of August).

Benefit payment installment and date

• 1st and 2nd installment (normal deadline): August 16;
• 1st and 2nd installment (extended deadline for cities that were late): August 30;
• 3rd installment: September (no date);
• 4th installment: October (no date);
• 5th installment: November (no date);
• 6th installment: December (no date).

Who will be entitled to taxi assistance?

In addition to the deadline for submitting registrations by city halls to be September 11, 2022, taxi drivers who:

• Are active with authorization issued by the municipal or district public authority;
• Have a license registered with the City Hall or the Federal District;
• CPF and driving license (CNH) regularized;
• Are registered to practice the profession;
• Hold a concession, permission, license or authorization.
