In two applications (Auxílio Brasil, created for the social program, and Caixa Tem, used to monitor account balances digital bank), the beneficiary will be able to consult information about payment dates, benefit amount and composition of the installments.
Currently, 17.5 million families are served by the program, and three million people were added to the Auxílio Brasil at the beginning of the year. The Ministry of Citizenship is responsible for overseeing the programme, and is also at the forefront of managing benefits and remitting the program amount through Caixa.
Families registered in the Single Registry of Federal Social Programs (CadÚnico) with final NIS 0 also receive the gas subsidy today. The benefit follows the regular payment schedule of the Auxílio Brasil and is worth R$53 in June.
Lasting five years, the initiative will serve 5.5 million families by the end of 2026, paying 50% of the average price of a 13-kilogram gas cylinder, according to data compiled by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP).
The Gas Aid budget for this year is R$ 1.9 billion, paid every two months. Only those who are registered with CadÚnico and have at least one family member who receives the BPC can participate in the program.
