NAME:

Pinocchio

Geppetto was an elderly carpenter who always dreamed of having his own little boy to keep him company.

One night, he decided to carve a little wooden figure and named it Pinocchio. That night, a fairy godmother appeared and bestowed upon Pinocchio the gift of life.

Geppetto was delighted with Pinocchio. He gave him some money to buy books and sent him to school. On the way, Pinocchio met a very naughty boy. The boy told him to use his money to buy candy. It was then that the talking cricket, a very wise cricket, who was actually Pinocchio's conscience, appeared and told Pinocchio to do the right thing. Pinocchio ignored him and continued on his merry way!

He then met a lady who asked him if the money was to buy candy and he lied, saying yes. Suddenly, his nose started to grow longer and Pinocchio began to cry.

The owner of a puppet show saw Pinocchio crying and invited him to dance in his show. On stage, Pinocchio's long nose was wrapped around the puppet strings. The wicked puppeteer then locked poor Pinocchio in a cage. There, Pinocchio wept and yearned for Geppetto. The fairy godmother appeared and forgave Pinocchio's lies.

[…]

So Pinocchio returned to his home and Geppetto and became a real boy, who always lets his conscience be his guide!
