NAME:
Peacock Percival spent all day showing off. He pranced back and forth on the lawns of the palace garden, waiting for people to praise her dancing and the beautiful feathers of her tail. If anyone dared to try to caress it, it pecked at it with its sharp beak.
Pita, his sister, was not like him. She had no elegant feathers and was not a dancer. Her feathers were a dull brown. However, she was kind and let the little children caress her. She even let them feed her, taking great care not to hurt them with her beak.
One day, the king summoned all his favorite animals to be displayed in the palace court. Of course Percival was sure he would be chosen! He was so excited to show off and prance in front of the king... However, when it came time for the king to choose the birds, he chose the gentle Pita instead!
That day, Percival learned that elegant feathers don't compare to a beautiful heart!
