The Araraquara Transport Cooperative (Coomppa) put the Bibi Mob application into practice in the city, with the premise of transferring up to 95% of the values obtained in the races to drivers. In addition, the new platform does not have a dynamic tariff.
Coomppa emerged after meetings between app drivers in the city of Araraquara (SP), in which professionals discussed options to solve problems in the transport sector in the region. Thus, the cooperative was established in March 2021 and had the support of the local city hall.
The group set some goals and targets for redressing existing grievances. From this, the idea of creating a new application arose and, thus, Bibi Mob was identified as a possible solution. This platform arrived in Brazil in 2019 and requires adherence through a contract that needs to be drawn up by the city hall.
Regarding the benefits for consumers, an important point is that there will be no concern with the dynamic tariff. This is because there is no such variation on the Bibi Mob platform.
On the other hand, as a benefit for the drivers, the idea is that the profit from the races is much higher. Thus, as mentioned initially, the premise is that up to 95% of the values are passed on to them, and the remaining 5% will be used for platform maintenance.
This difference in values is very important for workers, as it is a proposal contrary to what happens with apps like Uber and 99. These companies, for example, keep about 30% of the race money.
The city of Araraquara reported that more than 7,000 passengers have already used the new service and around 270 drivers are registered on the platform. The Bibi Mob app is available for both Android and iOS devices. Therefore, if you live in that municipality or visit it frequently, you can now test this option.
