the woman and the pot of milk

A peasant woman came back from the field with a pitcher full of milk taken from the cows. As she walked, she was already thinking about the profits she would have “A part of this milk I will sell to the neighbor, with the rest I will make cheese that I will sell to the market. With the money I will buy eggs to hatch and then sell the chicks at a good price, then I will buy a nice dress to wear when I go to the market and everyone will be jealous of me.”

As she dreamed of what her life would be like, she tripped over a rock and fell, also dropping the pitcher of milk she held in her hands. All milk was spilled and absorbed into the land and with it the peasant girl's dreams.
