The Federal Highway Police is working on the development of an application for users of the country's highways, in which truck drivers will be the focus of the service. The app will have a “panic button” which can be activated in the event of a serious accident or criminal attack by someone passing through a specific point on the highway. It is still in the testing phase, however, the prediction is that it will be released at the end of the year. Check out more in this article about the new app for truckers and drivers.

According to information from the Federal Highway Police, the traffic and transport systems, which today are used by public security agencies, will be integrated into the new application that is in the process of being test.
In this way, it works as a feedback of information through efficient technologies, in order to minimize costs. This all while providing more security and efficiency in police presence where needed.
Although there is still not much information, the idea is that the application will be available to anyone who needs to contact the PRF immediately. With this, two main situations are foreseen for the use of this resource. The first is intended for cases that require emergency actions due to serious accidents, and the second, in cases of criminal actions, mainly theft of cargo and kidnapping of truck drivers.
The purpose of developing this application is for the PRF to be able to respond more quickly to the needs of users of the Brazilian federal highways, mainly for truck drivers, who go through several emergency situations in the period of work.
The application is still in the testing, experimentation and improvement phase to work more effectively. It is expected to be available by the end of this year.
