As a child, because of my impulsive character, I lost my temper at the slightest provocation.
Most of the time, after these incidents, I felt ashamed and tried to comfort the one I had hurt.
One day my teacher saw me apologizing to a friend after an outburst of anger. After what happened, he handed me a plain sheet of paper and said:
— Knead it. Very tight.
Afraid, I obeyed and made a ball out of her.
"Now leave it as it was," said the professor.
Obviously I couldn't leave it as before. Try as he might, the paper was still full of wrinkles.
So the teacher explained to me:
“People's hearts are like this paper. The pain we've caused him will be as difficult to erase as those dents in the leaf.
So I learned to be more understanding and patient. When I feel like bursting, I remember that crumpled paper. The impression we leave on people is impossible to erase.
When we hurt someone with our actions or our words, we soon want to fix the mistake, but it's too late too much… I remember an old saying: “Speak only when your words can be as smooth as the silence."
We will always be responsible for our actions, we must never forget that.
