Make your dishcloth white with just three ingredients

The dishtowels we use in the kitchen end up stained with food spills and turn yellow over time. That way, it's almost impossible to make them white just by washing them normally, with soap and water, so we'll teach you how to make dishcloths white easily.

On the internet and social networks it is common to find many recipes to wash them with the promise that they will become clear, but most of them don't work because there is no chemical logic between the substances. However, we're going to teach you a very simple and quick recipe that only takes 3 ingredients (one of them is water!) to make your dishtowels white as new.

Toxicity Alert! Dyed clothes can make you sick for THIS

How to make

As already mentioned, you will only need to separate three ingredients for this recipe:

  • ½ cup of water;
  • 200 ml of white vinegar;
  • 12g of bicarbonate.

First of all, choose a container to make the mixture, it can be directly in the washing tub or in a plastic bucket. Then add the vinegar followed by the baking soda and finally the water.

It is necessary to stir well until the bicarbonate dissolves completely and the mixture becomes homogeneous.

Once ready, just put the dirty and grimy cloths in the liquid and keep it soaking for 24 hours. After that time you will remove the cloths and throw the mixture away.

Then rinse the cloths under running water and wash them normally with soap and water. After finishing the wash, centrifuge the dish towels and lay them out in a very sunny place.

Finally, you will see that your dishtowels will be whiter than ever and squeaky clean.

Extra tip for mold and mildew stains

If your cloth has blackheads and mildew stains, the recipe above may not be able to remove them completely. But there are two very simple ways to get rid of this nuisance once and for all:

  • With bicarbonate: You can use purchased baking soda to whiten the cloths in this recipe. Just put a tablespoon of it in a liter of hot water and keep the piece soaking for a few hours. Then rinse and wash normally;
  • With lemon juice: you will put some of the lemon juice on top of the mold stain and leave the piece directly in the sun. Then just wash normally.
