cell phones
Cell phones are the most used devices with internet access in Brazil and are strongly incorporated into our daily lives. Being used to carry out the most diverse tasks and with its ease of transport, it becomes an indispensable tool in modern society.
But, as well as its importance, this technology has a relatively high associated cost and its care is important for maintaining the useful life of the device. And keeping them charged is one of the most common issues as reported by consumers.
Therefore, several speculations and doubts were created about what can happen by leaving the cell phone charging all night in the socket, among them: does this practice “addict” the battery? Do I spend a lot of energy? Can it really make the cell phone explode?
So, is it bad?
While leaving your phone charging all night isn't good for your phone's battery, it doesn't do as much damage either. This is due to the new technology of lithium batteries implanted in cell phones. Thus, it would take several years of use for this practice to lead to significant damage to the device.
As for the energy expenditure of keeping the cell phone charging at night, this is not so high nor does it result in significant differences in the bill. Although a typical cell phone can fully recharge its battery between 2 and 3 hours, these extra hours consume an average of only 3.5 watts.
However, in cases where there are many residents, the accumulation may result in variations in the bill at the end of the month.
Finally, although the phone can overheat while charging the battery, it is extremely unlikely that this will result in the device exploding. But, due to the increase in temperature, it is not recommended to place the cell phone to charge in hot, humid places or close to flammable products.
Furthermore, it is recommended to use original batteries or a model of recognized quality.
