400 university students and newly graduated professionals from all over Brazil will participate in the classes. After the end of classes, 60 of these students will be selected to take advantage of the full version of the course. In this case, the students who present the best performance during this period will be considered. In addition, in order to enroll, it was necessary to pass a logic and cultural fit test proposed by VAI.
Basically, this is an area that organizes and analyzes the data of a company, agency, etc. This requires different processes, such as capturing this information, processing, transforming and analyzing it. Therefore, this professional, the data scientist, is required to have a more mathematical and analytical profile, since a more strategic vision is required.
After those interested are selected, they will gain access to a two-week preparatory course where they can learn concepts basics and essentials of data science, such as, for example, some programming languages, such as Python, in addition to classes in statistic, soft skills and time management. Students will also receive a certificate, which can be used as additional university hours.
In about eight weeks (complete course), including live classes, participants will be separated into teams, and must perform tasks practices and of the most different levels, thus being able to understand more clearly how a "data science" team works in the market of work. At the end, a last exclusive project will be carried out, a challenge proposed by Americanas.
