After his death on March 23, 2012, due to multiple organ failure, a fight between the comedian's heirs began in court. On one side, the widow and wife at the time, Malga Di Paula. On the other, the eight children of Chico Anysio.
Chico Anysio's inheritance, valued at BRL 20 million at the time the will was read, is now the subject of disputes and judicial annulments. That's because, because the comedian left one of his children out of the will, the document was annulled by the court.
And the fight over Chico's assets is far from over. According to the comedian's widow, so far she has not received any value from her ex-husband's assets, and due to the long legal dispute, today Chico's assets are nothing more than overdue tax debts, in the amount of R$ 7 millions.
Even after an interview with Malga di Paula, in which she commented on one of Chico's children who died as a result of COVID-19, the other children of the comedian came out in defense of the deceased brother and claimed that it was a low blow for the widow to deal with the inheritance in a moment of pain.
For Malga, Cícero Chaves fought for more than 10 years to receive an inheritance that he will not be able to access now, due to his death. Nizo Neto, son of the comedian, said that this was a private matter and that it represents a lack of respect to talk about a person who cannot defend himself.
Chico Anysio's will was annulled because the comedian excluded one of the necessary heirs from the document. The chances of disinheritance are strict in the Civil Code and only happen in serious cases, such as serious physical offenses or involvement with a stepmother or stepfather.
Today, the person responsible for Chico Anysio's inventory is the actor and son of comedian Bruno Mazzeo, who removed Malga di Paula from the role after claiming the widow's omission in conducting the process.
