The Citizen Card is a benefit provided by Caixa Econômica Federal, in partnership with the Federal Government. It follows the same format as a bank account card.
With it, it is possible to carry out consultations and withdrawals, in addition to receiving social and labor benefits such as FGTS, PIS/Pasep, unemployment insurance, salary allowance and, also, Bolsa Família. That is, all people who are entitled to these benefits have access to it.
This consultation can be carried out in two very practical ways, and without leaving home: through the Caixa website or by telephone. To make the query through the website, you will need to access the Caixa Portal, specific for Citizen Card queries.
On the page, enter your CPF, NIS or email and enter your password and do the security check. Once this is done, you will be directed to an “Internet Password Registration” page.
After completing the password registration, you will be redirected to the main page. Just do the registration again and, in the Main Menu, select the “Extract” option. Soon, information about your bank statement will be on the screen.
You can still check your balance over the phone. To do so, contact Caixa's SAC number at 0800 726 0207. Opening hours are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
