The National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), through the Human Resources Training Program for the Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (PRH-ANP), will offer, starting in 2019, around one thousand scholarships for undergraduate, masters and doctorate degree.
Scholarships will be made available with the support of the Financier of Studies and Projects (Finep). Altogether there are 50 programs in different areas of knowledge. Most of the Brazilian states should be covered and higher education institutions should receive investments estimated at R$ 170 million over five years.

The ANP forecast is that the public notice for the selection of the programs will be released by the end of this year. Thus, the availability of scholarships for students will start in February 2019.
The ANP informed that “the announcement to be launched will establish the scoring criteria for selection of programs, which will be responsible for granting scholarships to students”.
Scholarships will be funded with resources from the Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) clause contained in oil and natural gas exploration and production contracts.
“Participating companies will have to adhere to a fund, whose financial management will be carried out by the Financier of Studies and Projects (Finep), responsible for transferring funds to higher education institutions that are part of the PRH-ANP”, emphasizes the note.
