The land. She was born about 4.5 billion years ago. At that time we didn't exist. It didn't have the air we breathe, the ground we walk on, or the seawater. The average temperature was 12,000 degrees Celsius. Do you know how hot this is? Just think that water boils at a hundred degrees Celsius. In other words, the Earth was about 120 times hotter than boiling water. The Earth was a great oatmeal prepared on the stove.
Over time, the planet started to cool off, but it was still not a nice place to live. That's because meteor showers happened all the time. For 20 million years, our planet has been bombarded by meteors and meteorites. But don't think that was a bad thing. In a way, these asteroids carried within them a vital element for life on Earth: water.
When the temperature began to drop, the surface of the great oatmeal called Terra began to harden. Thus emerged the Earth's crust and other layers of the planet, such as the mantle and the core. It was also at this time that our atmosphere was formed, but it was very different from what it is now.
Meteorite water began to accumulate in the soils. There were also rains and storms that never ended. That's how the oceans were born, but there were still no fish, starfish, or anything we know. It was just water.
But, as I said, water, by itself, was already one of the most important elements for the first forms of life to appear here. Volcanoes erupted all the time. The meteor shower continued and some say that these rocks that come from space brought here carbon and proteins that accumulated at the bottom of the great oceans.
