The new set of protections offered to guests using Airbnb consists of four different guarantees, offered free of charge for any accommodation that is used. Check the protections:

• Booking Protection Guarantee — It is a guarantee in case the host cancels the reservation with less than 30 days to check-in. Thus, the platform takes responsibility for finding a new accommodation along the same lines as the previous one or refunds the money.
• Check-in Guarantee — If the guest is unable to 'check-in' at the accommodation and the host does not resolve the issue, Airbnb is responsible for finding an equal or better accommodation for the customer.
• Ad Veracity Guarantee — If the guest is suspicious of any information or finds any discrepancy between what was announced and what was delivered by the host, he will have up to 3 days to communicate what happened, and Airbnb undertakes to find better accommodation or refund you.
• 24-hour security service — If the guest does not feel safe in the accommodation, priority will be given to a service line operated by trained security agents 24 hours a day.

The end of Covid-19 cancellations

Airbnb also announced the end of its cancellation policy due to Covid-19 as of May 31. Therefore, even if the guest or host needs to cancel the reservation due to contracting the virus, they will no longer be entitled to a refund or travel credit.
