Insects

They are found in all environments on the planet, even in the oceans and seas, although more rarely. There is even a species that lives in the fur of Mediterranean seals, can you believe it? Therefore, it is no wonder that about a million and a half species of insects have already been cataloged on the planet. Interestingly, scientists believe that this number is only a small part of the existing total. Insects managed to occupy a large part of the planet, thanks to their small size and their ability to fly, to have a large number of offspring and to lay eggs that are resistant to lack of water. These animals are very present in our daily lives: they are cockroaches, mosquitoes, ants, moths, lice, fleas, wasps, bees, among others. Some transmit diseases, such as the dengue mosquito; others, such as beetles, eat plants, fungi, debris, and other insects.
