It is quite common for students to apply for a specific vacancy, but when they have contact with the course, they end up changing their minds about graduating in that area. However, it is normal to notice that the curriculum was not what was imagined, as well as to realize that that is not the ideal career to follow.
With that, the desire to change course may arise. As much as this is possible in any institution of higher education, when it comes to Prouni, things work differently. Check out!
When you are a beneficiary of Prouni, you can transfer a course, but the new option must be part of the same area of knowledge. For example, if the student wishes to request a transfer from the Nursing course, the other graduation chosen must be in the same area as this one, that is, in the health area.
In addition, it is also possible to apply for an external transfer. So, if you choose to change your educational institution, both colleges need to be in accordance with your application. In addition, the new higher education school must be accredited by Prouni.
Every institution must be open for you to make this request. And after you do it, the Term of Transfer of Usufruct of the Scholarship will be issued, thus ensuring that the process is completed. However, it is worth mentioning that the MEC (Ministry of Education) does not interfere in this procedure.
There are some situations that prevent you from transferring a course as a Prouni scholarship holder. One of them is changing the partial scholarship (50%) to a full scholarship (100%) without the student having taken Prouni again and made the application at the higher education institution.
In addition, course transfer is also not authorized when the student has completed all the semesters made available by the faculty. Another situation that does not allow for a change of course is when the scholarship was granted through a court decision.
Another impeding factor is the transfer from a private college to a public one, as this type of institution is not part of Prouni. Therefore, in this situation, the student has the revocation of the scholarship as soon as there is confirmation of his enrollment in the public institution.
