MEC publishes FIES rules for the second semester

This Friday, the 3rd, the Ministry of Education released the rules for joining Fies. The standards are for the second half of 2019. The Student Financing Program will also be subject to the same rules.

According to the MEC, anyone who:

• Have participated in the National High School Examination (Enem) from the 2010 edition. Candidates must have obtained a grade point average equal to or greater than 450 points. In addition, students cannot have completed the essay.
• Have a gross monthly family income of up to three minimum wages per person. This rule applies in the case of enrollment in Fies. The value rises to up to five minimum wages per person in P-Fies.

Higher education institutions interested in participating in the process must sign a participation term from May 9th to May 17th. The document must contain the option for Fies or P-Fies. It should also contain the offer of vacancies in each modality.

The rectification of the terms, if necessary, can be made from May 20th to 22nd.

The necessary procedures for issuing and signing the term must be carried out through the Fies Computerized System, SisFies, in the FiesOferta module, available here.

The registration period for candidates for the selection process for the second half of the year will be announced later on, in a public notice issued by the Secretariat of Higher Education (SESu).
