Brazil is a country where, unfortunately, many people live in vulnerable conditions. In this way, there are some government programs and incentives that aim to reduce this inequality and help in the income of these families.

Vale-gás is a social program created to help Brazilian citizens in a situation of social vulnerability, through the transmission of income for the purchase of cooking gas cylinders. Thus, the objective is to be able to help in the family income and, thus, reduce the basic costs of these families.
In view of this, the target audience is people registered with CadÚnico, who have an income of up to half a minimum wage (R$ 606). In addition, those who receive the Benefit of Continued Provision of Social Assistance (BPC) are also eligible. And finally, women victims of domestic violence should be given preference in receiving assistance. The program started at the end of 2021, and currently around 5.5 million families are participating.
At that time, the value received by citizens in the gas voucher corresponds to R$ 52, approximately half the price of a 13 kg gas cylinder.
Unfortunately, the program has not yet managed to reach the entire population eligible to receive the benefit. However, for gas vouchers, the determination of the amount to be paid is based on the most recent data from the National Petroleum and Biofuels Agency (ANP).
Thus, as the program was very successful, the federal government claims that it plans to increase the value of this benefit. According to the president, a partnership will be made with Petrobras in order to evaluate and define a new value.
