Recently, ‘Paladar’ invited renowned judges and chefs, such as Paula Cimini, Márcia Garbin and Eduardo Almeida, to carry out a blind test. The intention was evaluate 10 brands of dulce de leche in terms of creaminess, flavor, aroma and appearance.
As expected, flavor experts determined which were the top three candies. Check out the top 3 below:
1st: Havana
The big winner of this challenge was Havanna's dulce de leche. Tasty and well-caramelized, it resembles the typical texture of Argentine sweets, captivating the most demanding palates.
This candy is available in packages of 420g, for R$ 39.63, on average. The Havanna brand, which produces the delicacy, is recognized as one of the main representatives of the Argentine product in the Brazilian market, which justifies the quality.
With a more consistent texture, but without losing its creaminess, Havanna dulce de leche is a versatile option, ideal to accompany different preparations, either as a filling for cakes, pies, crepes, cookies and other sweets.
The 800g pot promises to yield countless delicious spoonfuls and please the most demanding palates.

2nd: La Serenissima
This brand won second place in the test. Although based in Brazil, it maintains the original Argentine recipe, which gives the dulce de leche a darker color, characteristic of Argentine products.
Found in a 400g package, for R$ 15.34, it is an affordable option for those who want to try the authentic Argentine recipe. Its creamy texture and accentuated flavor make it perfect both for pure consumption and for fillings.
3rd: Mambo Moment
Finally, the third place went to Momento Mambo, a dulce de leche that aroused the memory of the judges, referring to the flavors of childhood.
The judges' evaluation was careful, taking into account the appearance of the products, the presence of brightness or opacity, as well as the balance of sugar, darker color and caramelized texture.
It is interesting to note that such characteristics may vary according to consumer preference, without necessarily reflecting on the quality of the candy in question.
In the midst of these individual preferences, the blind test provided an objective and impartial analysis of the products, without being influenced by attractive or less attractive packaging. Only its quality and taste were observed, or rather tasted!
