According to Nubank, Ultravioleta was launched with the aim of reinventing the concept of premium. It is a modern design card made of metal with a darker purple color. It's also heavier, carries a new logo and has a mysterious message that can only be read under ultraviolet light.
Still regarding the look, the only visible printed information is the full name of the cardholder. Other data such as account and card number, security code and expiration date are restricted within the Nubank application.
The new card has been available since July 2021, but not all users can access it. Thus, the bank is gradually releasing Ultraviolet to its customers. In this sense, a few more users reported on social networks that they were awarded with it last Friday, February 4th.
Ultravioleta provides the option of 1% cashback (cash back) for each purchase made. This return can be used in any way the person prefers and, if not spent, the amount yields 200% of the CDI, and the user can follow all of this through the Nubank application.
In addition, the card also provides access to airport lounges, rental car insurance, travel insurance, Secure Purchase, Boingo Wi-Fi, extended warranty and Mastercard Concierge.
A monthly fee of R$ 49 will be charged to use Ultravioleta. However, if the monthly card bill is R$5,000 or more or if the customer has at least R$150,000 saved or invested in Nubank and/or Nu invest, it is not necessary to pay the monthly fee, and thus, the card becomes free.
