You documents requiredto get a passport are the following:

  • Identity document, which may be an Identity Card, Driver's License with photo, Work Card or old passport;
  • CPF;
  • Marriage certificate, if the name has been changed;
  • Certificate of naturalization, for naturalized persons.

It is also necessary to present the previous passport, if you have one. If not, a double fee will be charged.

It is worth remembering that it is necessary to be up to date with military service, in the case of men, and with electoral activities. The check is carried out at the time of issuance of the passport.

At the Federal Police website, fill in the form with personal data, documentation and some additional data, such as profession, e-mail and address.

With the information filled in, confirm the data and a protocol number will be generated with the request and the payment slip from the Union Collection Guide (GRU).

Afterwards, pay the fee, which currently corresponds to R$ 257.25. After payment, the scheduling service by the Federal Police may be requested. This is usually possible after bank clearing.

After authorization, when scheduling, enter your CPF, protocol number and date of birth. Some available cities will be indicated, as well as times and days.

On the scheduled date, go to the Federal Police station with the documentation mentioned above.

On the day, it is not necessary to take a 3×4 photo, as it will be taken on site. Except for children up to three years old who need a 5×7 color face photo with a white background.

Service is usually quick. Afterwards, a protocol will be delivered with the possible delivery date. Through PF website you can follow the progress.

With your passport ready, go to the post with your original identity document. A passport validity is ten years old.
