The Hokkaido Railway Co’s train company, from Hokkaido (Japan’s second largest island), kept a station open for just one user: student Kana Harada.
The station was 80 kilometers away from the initial stop and operated twice a day. In the morning at 7:04 am and in the afternoon at 5:08 pm. That was only on the days and times that Kana Harada had classes.

The company was highly praised for the gesture of kindness, as plans were to close the station in 2012 due to a lack of users. But after investigations, it was discovered that a student who needed the train to go to school.
However, it would close shortly after the young woman finished her studies. Harada stated that she would be sad at the thought of the station disappearing, but that she was very grateful for everything.
The station remained open until March 2016, when Harada finished his studies and graduated.
