O Atakarejo arose from the entrepreneurial vision of its founder, Teobaldo Costa, who, from a fruit and vegetable stall he owned in 1979, turned it into one of the largest wholesale chains in Brazil.

To apply for the Atakarejo credit card, the following documents are required:
It is worth mentioning that each category requires different documents to prove income.
For salaried employees or civil servants, a paycheck and a bank statement issued within the last three months and the last two credit card bills (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club Internacional or Hipercard).
For retirees or pensioners, only the presentation of the benefit card and the INSS statement, with credit details.
Finally, self-employed professionals, business owners or the self-employed, are required to file an income tax return, a bank statement for the last three months and the last two credit card bills (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club Internacional or Hipercard).
The order for the Atakarejo credit card is made only from physical form, in one of the chain's stores. To do so, go to the credit sector and fill out the membership application.
After that, the proposal will be analyzed by the responsible sector. If approved, the card is sent to the registered address within 15 business days.
However, as this is a partnership with Itaucard, it may be subject to a credit analysis by Banco Itaú.
