1. Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab
In theory, it was supposed to be just an educational toy, but in practice, it became a danger to anyone who bought it, like a real radioactive laboratory at home.
O Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab it had the purpose of introducing children to the world of chemistry by getting their hands dirty; the only problem is that it actually contained uranium.
That's right, a children's toy that had as one of its parts nothing less than a radioactive component, which at the time seemed like a great idea.
Not only that, but it also had radioactivity measurement tools, something so sophisticated that it makes us increasingly question the product's target audience.
In order not to cause a fuss, the company responsible for creating the toy put only low-radiation minerals, but it is clear that this is not enough to justify its existence.
2. Google Glass
Technology always advances. As time goes by, we see old objects being refurbished to keep up with the current era, with that we have even more amazing products.
The cell phone used to be so big that it looked like a brick, but today it fits in our pocket and some even fold its screen keeping the factor touch screen.
But if technology advances and changes over time, what would be the future of cell phones? At one time, the company Google would respond by saying: advanced glasses.
Google Glass promised to be a panel before your eyes, capable of being used for navigation, calls, watching and recording videos and much more.
The idea really seems like something out of a movie, however, what was presented was nothing close to perfection or even the essentials that was promised.
The device hindered rather than helped the user, with performance problems that compromised its use, in addition to looking quite strange on the face.
3. Apple's AirPower
Announced in 2017, AirPower was Apple's promise of a revolutionary wireless charger that could simultaneously charge an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods.
After several delays, Apple officially canceled the project in 2019, citing difficulties meeting its quality standards.
4. Betamax
This is an interesting case that, in fact, is not a failure due to the quality of the product itself, but which also poses no risk to anyone, it just arrived at the wrong time.
The product offered a new way to record your content with great quality, however, some time after its launch, it was dethroned by the competitor.
Cheaper, with greater benefits and even easier to use, VHS took away the opportunity for Betamax to triumph in the market.
5. radium cosmetics
In the 1920s, radium-based cosmetics were advertised as being able to rejuvenate the skin and promote health. However, radium is extremely radioactive and dangerous to human health.
Many people who used these products ended up suffering serious consequences such as cancer and other radiation-related illnesses.
