Brazil shines, once again, in breeding championships abroad! Students from Colégio Objetivo, in São Paulo, won 2nd place in RoboCup, the Robotics World Cup. Held in Montreal, Canada, the competition brought together 88 teams from around the world. The Brazilians were only behind the team from Japan.
The group formed by Vinicius Santos, Victor Amaral, Mariana and Felipe Bagni also won the award for “Best Programming” at the OnStage level. In it, autonomous humans and robots are expected to create a presentation on stage, however, under the condition that there is no touching but interaction between them. The theme chosen was the Star Wars saga.

The presentation by high school students from São Paulo had two prototypes. The first was life-sized and simulated a fight between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, represented by the robot. The second played the soundtrack of the saga on the keyboard. In an article reproduced by the G1 portal, the young people said they were delighted with the result.
The road to Canada was arduous. Under the coordination of professor Almir Brandão Jr, the group had to win the Brazilian and Latin American robotics championships in order to qualify for the world championship.
