The Japanese design company, recognized as Nendo, gains space in the market by launching diverse and unique projects, from the conception of a minimalist 24-foot Christmas tree to a neighborhood in Tokyo, leading to modernization of Pokémon card style and graphics, and even the development of a new game ball for the International Federation of Pokémon Handball.
This time, they faced the almost impossible mission for brewers: to serve a beer with perfect quality. Is the difference in taste, in production? No! The differential is in the can and in the power to serve its customers.

Nendo stated that in Japan foam heads are valued as an essential element in enhancing beer flavor. This is because a layer of foam of adequate thickness acts as a shield, preventing the beer from coming into contact with air and preserving its aroma, flavor and carbonation.
After conducting their own research, Nendo experts discovered that one of the key elements to get an ideal beer pour was the can itself, more specifically the opening tab. During the development process, the company identified two crucial aspects to be considered: drop in air pressure when the can was opened and the formation of bubbles.
Based on this research, the company's experts designed a new style of can that featured not only one, but but two flaps positioned on opposite sides of a single opening in the lid, in order to promote greater quality for the beer.
When the first tab is pulled, the lid will be partially open, allowing bubbling foam to form and pour into the cup. After the cup is partially filled and the foam has settled a little, the second flap is pulled to fully open the can. In this way, the remaining liquid is poured into the glass, completing the process of pouring the perfect beer. One hell of a genius!
