With the “Life Project”, students will have the opportunity to get to know better the areas that most attract them, if deepen in specific activities, know the disciplines that are easy and what values they have for they. Thus, students will be able to identify which profession they intend to follow in the near future.
According to Lucas de Briquez, business owner and teacher, it is necessary to break with the habit of seeing secondary education as preparation for the National Secondary Education Examination (Enem). “Society is little dedicated to understanding and supporting adolescents. It is still believed that these three years of high school are only for taking the Enem and entering a university. In this period, young people are going through the biggest psychological and physical transformations of their lives, preparing for what comes next: adulthood”, he points out.
In this sense, from the opportunity to experience this subject, the professional says that students will be encouraged to discover their vocations and desires. “It is a process of self-knowledge, where they can plan the next steps”, she emphasizes.
For neuropsychopedagogue Georgya Corrêa, the new curriculum helps students understand the importance of learning what the school is offering. “The ‘Life Project’ makes it possible for the student to understand why he needs to know, it gives meaning to the study”, she says.
Furthermore, according to the master, discipline can promote greater assimilation of the world and of life's opportunities. “The student can look at himself and see which skills make sense to him and which he would like to contribute to the world”, she says.
