A very important factor when it comes to saving energy with the refrigerator is to keep it always full. This will help keep food preserved and prevent damage, however contradictory it may seem.

Next, you can check out five other tips that you can use in your daily life and that will help a lot in saving energy.

1. Wait for food to cool

No putting hot food in the fridge. This is because the device will spend more energy to cool its interior. Therefore, reserve the food for a while at room temperature until it can go into the refrigerator.

2. Check the condition of the rubbers

Keeping the refrigerator closed is one of the best ways to save energy. Therefore, if the door sealing rubbers do not work correctly, more energy will be spent. So try to change the rubbers whenever they are worn out enough.

3. Don't dry clothes behind the fridge

This custom of the ancients insists on persisting in the new generations, however that does not mean that it is correct. In fact, this habit can cause engine wear and greater energy consumption by the refrigerator. Therefore, resort to the traditional way of hanging clothes.

4. Do not line the shelves

Another habit that persists in the new generations is lining the shelves to avoid getting the inside of the device dirty. However, this will only make it more difficult to cool the inside of the fridge and consume more energy.

5. Replace your old fridge

As much as maintaining the old refrigerator may seem more economical, it is very likely that its energy expenditure is much greater! Overall, this can result in much more expensive utility bills over the long term. So, try to replace old models with recent ones that have the PROCEL Seal and Aneel A rating, as this means they are more economical.
