Wikipedia, a free online encyclopedia, created a sound logo. Called “The Sound of All Human Knowledge,” the identity features a set of sound effects to reflect the goals of the online encyclopedia.
The audible logo mixes the clatter of book pages, keyboard clicks and tones created by synthesizers. These sounds should reinforce the brand's identity, working in a similar way to the "tu-dum" of the Netflix. The clip is four seconds long and was created by the Wikipedia community itself.

The Wikimedia foundation planned and organized a contest to create an audio logo designed for projects where visual cues are “not an option”.
In total, more than 3,000 pieces of content were received. The winning version was chosen by a vote. The authorship is by Thaddeus Osborne, who tried to convey an image of human warmth, joy, books and technology.
To ‘listen to the logo’ play the sound below:
The American Osborne is a nuclear scientist by day, but he likes to venture into other areas. He will receive US$ 2,500 (about R$ 13,000) for the project, in addition to recognition for having created the image of the Free Encyclopedia. The expectation is that by June this year the sound will be finalized.
Sound logos have the same symbolism as a graphic representation. As Wikipedia is present in virtual assistants and other platforms, the need arose to bring a sound identity to the organization as well.
