Jeff Beck: Meet the legendary guitarist who recently passed away

On Tuesday, the 10th, the world of rock lost another one of its icons. Legendary guitarist Jeff Beck, who played a mix of blues, jazz, and of course, the good old rock'n roll, influenced several generations of musicians of various styles.

O guitar player of guitarists, as he became known, died at the age of 78, after contracting bacterial meningitis, as reported by its representatives on a quarter of this month, day 11.

Who was Jeff Beck?

  • Born on June 24, 1944, in Wallington, Surrey, England, the guitarist was named Geoffrey Arnold Beck, becoming popular under the name of Jeff Beck;
  • He passed away on January 10, 2023, in his hometown;
  • He influenced the development of musical styles such as heavy metal and jazz-rock, which made him one of the most respected names among guitarists and musicians;
  • He became best known as part of the Yardbirds group;
  • Afterwards, he formed a band with Rod Stewart called the Jeff Beck Group;
  • In the late 1960s, he released two albums with the Jeff Beck Group: “Truth” in 1968 and “Beck-Ola” in 1969;
  • Other popular albums were “Blow By Blow”, “Wired” and “Jeff Beck With The Jan Hammer Group Live”;
  • In 2022, Beck released an album with actor Johnny Depp, called “18”;
  • In the year 2009, he was inducted for the second time into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
