With the aim of promoting environmental preservation and publicizing safe beaches for bathers and tourists, the NGO Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) of Denmark, measures and discloses the safety degree of several beaches around of the world. It evaluates, among other factors, the quality of the water.

Brazil became a highlight, considering that 29 local beaches were praised and awarded. Find out now which are the Brazilian paradises that were appreciated and recommended due to the good quality of the water.
The Danish NGO does not only assess water quality, although this is the most prominent parameter. Other factors are taken seriously into consideration. See some of them: the cultural value; the practice of pro-environmental preservation activities; sand cleaning; selective collection and assistance for first aid; as well as accessibility for people with disabilities. All are also parameters for receiving the award.
Taking these factors into account, Brazil was a world highlight. Due to its continental dimensions and a considerable coastline, it is natural to expect that several beaches would be awarded. See the winners:
Highlight for Santa Catarina
Of all the Brazilian states, Santa Catarina has the most beaches that have been well evaluated, according to the NGO's parameters. About 18 of them were praised due to the criteria listed above.
Marinas are docks by the sea that function as a parking lot for leisure and nautical sports boats. This is where the maintenance and guarding of these boats takes place.
