Why consume protein foods?

Breakfast is a very important meal and can influence your eating pattern for the rest of the day. Although not mandatory, ideally something should be eaten first thing in the morning, preferably a source of protein.

They promote greater satiety. In other words, when you eat something that is high in protein, it takes longer for you to feel hungry again. That's why those who leave early and can only eat at lunchtime should consume some of our suggestions to avoid feeling hungry all morning.

Want to lose a few pounds? Their consumption is also fundamental for the following reason: the body spends energy during the digestion of food. Proteins are the nutrients that require the most energy from the body to be digested. In addition, they promote greater satiety, as we explained earlier.

If you play sports and want to build muscle, know that they are the largest constituents of the muscles in the body. Therefore, they need to be ingested frequently for the construction of new tissues. That's why many athletes even consume supplements that are endowed with these beauties.

Protein-rich foods to include for breakfast

Now that we understand the importance of keeping them in your diet, let's go to the products and foods that can help you eat more of them every day. It is important to note that those of animal origin are the ones that most contain these nutrients, however it is possible to find them in foods composed of products of plant origin. Ideally, these foods should be combined with each other to provide all the amino acids the body needs.

  • Yogurt: you can combine with fruits, oats and linseed;
  • Milk: great for preparing smoothies and porridges;
  • Cheese: excellent for sandwiches;
  • Tuna: an amazing filling for savory pancakes;
  • Lentil: it can be consumed in the form of pate;
  • Chickpea: it's the base of hummus, a perfect dip for toast;
  • Eggs: they can be consumed boiled, stirred and in several other ways.
