Can you imagine what it would be like if these Dragon Ball characters came to life?
A Reddit user known as @mortecouille92 thought of this and came up with a creative technique: he used a Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create realistic versions of Dragon Ball Z characters such as Goku and his companions, the Midjourney.
The results are impressive, with images that reproduce amazing detail and, for the most part, match the animated versions.
However, some Reddit users criticized the images of Goku, stating that the character should be depicted as Japanese, like most other characters.
The result was shared with other netizens and it is impressive. Check it out below!
Check below the AI used, how everything was done and the author's inspiration to make the work:
Midjourney
Midjourney is an artificial intelligence service developed by Midjourney, Inc. that allows you to create images from textual descriptions.
The system uses a technique called GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) to generate images from a database with millions of reference images.
Users can send in detailed descriptions of the objects, scenes or characters they want to see portrayed and Midjourney creates the corresponding images.
It's a useful tool for designers, game makers, writers and other people who need images to illustrate their ideas or products.
Inspiration
When creating the realistic version of the Saiyan warrior, @mortecouille92 stated that he didn't have a specific nationality in mind, but rather that he was inspired by football players who have characteristics that remind him of the characters in Dragon Ball.
The artist mentioned Kaká, a former player for São Paulo, Milan and the Brazilian national team, as the main source of inspiration for the creation of Goku.
Furthermore, @mortecouille92 revealed that he plans to create new realistic versions of Dragon Ball characters in the future, which will certainly please fans of the franchise who were impressed with the result of the images created through the artificial intelligence service Midjourney.
