No one denies that mastering the Portuguese language is very important in everyday life, but those who are looking for an opportunity in the market work needs to pay more attention to this, especially to the rules of the language, so as not to end up missing a big opportunity.
In the survey by the Núcleo Brasileiro de Estágios (Nube), 59,776 candidates were evaluated for vacancies in internship, and only 9,845 students were able to pass the assessment criteria for mastery of language. This represents only 16.5% of applicants.
The Covid-19 pandemic may be one of the major causes for the increase in failures. Comparing with the 2019 Nube survey, the disapproval rate at the time was 50%, while today this percentage reaches 67%. For students, the data are worrisome, as 89% of high school students assessed (6,300) did not achieve a good result in the assessment. It was no different with university students from Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Literature, Journalism and Pedagogy courses.
Of the 2,042 law students assessed, 85.8% showed results below expectations, followed by business students, who out of the 21,715 analyzed, 83.4% had insufficient results. Engineering students had a failure rate of 73.3%. Pedagogy students showed the worst performance, with 95.5% of students failing.
