It depends on the composition of the bow, the material, the aerodynamics and, of course, the archer. The old arrows, made of wood, were heavier and slower than the current ones, made from light aluminum tubes or carbon fibers. Luís Panizo, professor and former São Paulo and Brazilian archery champion, says that the latter, launched with good bows, usually reach up to 250 km/h.
