As noted by Carlos Eduardo Fonseca, Vice President of Mensa, psychometric tests recognized in Brazil require the approval of the Psychological Test Assessment System (Satepsi), prepared by the Federal Council of Psychology (CFP).
Maintaining secrecy around tests designed to identify superintelligent individuals has as its main objective the prevention of possible fraud.
This measure aims to prevent these exams, if they become widely known by the public, from being published on the internet, which could compromise the results and interfere with the evaluation.
Mensa offers a variety of tests available, from which the local administering psychologist selects the most appropriate one.
In June of this year, the city of São José dos Campos (SP) was chosen by Mensa Brasil to carry out the test.
The test was conducted at the city's Technological Park and administered to a limited number of candidates. Participants must be between 17 and 63 years of age.

Membership in Mensa, a community that brings together individuals of outstanding intelligence, is subject to the candidate achieving a score greater than 130 on the IQ test.
It is worth noting that the national IQ average is around 83 points, which translates into a challenge for most Brazilians who seek this association.
The 130 point mark demonstrates an exceptional level of cognitive skills and is a requirement to be part of this group dedicated to most outstanding intellects.
The challenge is considerable, to the point that Mensa calculates that approximately 2% of the global population has an IQ classified as high, surpassing the mark of 130 points.
In Brazil, based on this calculation, it is estimated that about 4 million Brazilians can be identified with this score above the average IQ.
