The terrible occurrence went through several points, causing several houses to be taken to the ground, in addition to leaving many dead and injured.
A fauna and Flora in the region also suffered numerous extremely worrying damages, which could negatively impact the area's ecosystem.
Even so, the mansion remained standing and practically intact after the passage of the fire that left debris everywhere. The owners of the property were asked about the possible reason for the structure to remain standing.
The couple formed by Dora Atwater Millikin and her husband, Dudley Long Millikin 3rd, explained that the house is made completely of wood. Therefore, it is quite vulnerable to fire.

However, they revealed that some changes may indeed have influenced the structure to remain erect.
The first would have been the replacement of the old roof made of flammable material for a new one, with heavy metal structures, which may have prevented the spread of the flames.
In addition, the mansion had several plants and trees around, these could cause the fire to spread. In this way, the owners also decided to cut them to reduce the amount and prevent the action of termites in the place.
According to the couple, at the time of the fire, which started on August 8, they were traveling to visit some relatives in Massachusetts. Thus, they intend to return when the place is considered safe and able to offer the house as a shelter.
The fire intensified with the incidence of dry weather and strong winds in the region. This spread the flames further and further and led to what is being considered the worst natural disaster in Hawaii's history.
So far, at least 114 have been identified as dead, several injured, dozens of animals slaughtered and injured, hundreds of buildings destroyed and more than 800 missing. However, the investigation into the facts continues.
