A calf appeared this Wednesday morning (5) on a busy viaduct in the port area of Rio de Janeiro. Two lanes were closed for the removal of the animal.
The calf invaded the Linha Vermelha expressway, one of the main ones in Rio. City hall teams tried to remove the calf, but it ran to the Gasometer viaduct. Two lanes were closed to prevent accidents.
In view of the movement, the animal became agitated and had to be tied to a wall. A man who introduced himself as the owner of the calf arrived at the scene.
The attempt was to place the animal inside a transport vehicle, but the calf came to sit on the access ramp. He had to be carried and was removed from the road around 9:10 am.
The president of the Commission for the Defense of Animals of the Chamber of Councilors of RJ informed that the animal rescued will stay at the Zoonoses Control Center to receive all the care and the owner of the calf will be fined.
