Calcium in egg shell

The main component of the eggshell is calcium, the same element that forms part of the composition of our teeth. Calcium in the form as it is present in eggshells and cloves does not dissolve in water, but it can dissolve in the presence of acids, such as acetic acid, found in vinegar. Therefore, vinegar dissolves the calcium in the egg shell. _________ phenomenon can be compared to another that occurs in our mouth: some acid-producing bacteria dissolve the calcium present in the teeth and can facilitate the appearance of cavities.
