Among all animal species, the insect group has the greatest diversity. We know almost a million species of insects. But scientists believe there are somewhere between 2.5 and 10 million species. In other words, we don't even know half of them, perhaps much less. Have you ever thought about finding an unknown insect and having the honor of choosing its name?
Despite being small, insects are very important for our planet. Some help fertilize the land, making it fertile. Others are fundamental for the reproduction of plant species. There are also dangerous species that can destroy crops and transmit diseases.
