After approximately three months of waiting, the long-awaited launch of “The Sphere” finally occurred on the night of last Friday, September 29th, in Las Vegas. The opening was marked by a grand show by the band U2.
The construction of the sphere, which boasts the largest LED screen in the world involving its entire external structure, required an investment of more than R$11 billion.

While preview images of the exterior were already awe-inspiring, the opening allowed spectators to enter this futuristic sphere and experience live entertainment.
Upon entering the concert hall, visitors are surrounded by a vast LED screen that covers all internal spaces to provide a 100% immersive environment.
Advanced technology makes it possible to create interactive and even psychedelic images, creating the illusion that events are taking place outdoors.
“The Sphere” boasts the title of the largest spherical structure in the world, with the capacity to accommodate 17,600 people seated or 20,000 standing, making it also one of the largest concert halls in the world planet.
The futuristic sphere was designed and built by James Dolan, a renowned billionaire who also practices as executive chairman of Madison Square Garden and is the owner of the New York Knicks and Rangers.
The inauguration attracted a star-studded audience, including names like Oprah, Paul McCartney, LeBron James, Matt Damon, Aaron Paul, Oscar de la Hoya, Henrik Lundqvist, Flava Flav, Diplo, Dakota Fanning, Orlando Bloom and Mario Lopez among gifts.
“The Sphere”’s most eye-catching features include its impressive height of 111.5 meters and width of 157.2 meters, establishing it as the largest spherical structure in the world.
Furthermore, its exterior is adorned by no less than 1.2 million disk-sized LEDs. hockey on ice, which, in turn, also hold the title of largest in the world.
The most interesting thing is that these LEDs are programmed to display dynamic images on a large scale, further adding to the unique visual experience that the sphere offers.
The opening of “The Sphere” is seen as a major milestone not only in architecture, but also in technology and entertainment and the way they merge to create memorable experiences.
