It appears that similar cases of additional charges in establishments in Italy are not isolated. Recently, there have been reports of similar situations in different restaurants.
A family celebrating a birthday at an establishment in Sicily was surprised with a 20 euro charge just to slice a cake they brought themselves.
The restaurant included such an expense in the bill as “20 X Servizio Torta”, charging for each slice cut. On another occasion, customers had to pay 2 euros for an empty plate so the daughter could try the pasta.
The owner of the establishment, Ida Germano, defended the fee claiming that the team would have work extra to wash the dish. It seems that extra services in Italy don't go unnoticed, right?
