1. Recognition and acceptance — the first step towards change

Envy is a natural emotion. When you come across that post that awakens such a feeling, the first step is to recognize and accept it.

Instead of suppressing it, use it as a drive for personal improvement. This shift in perspective can be the starting point for achieving the lifestyle or goal that made you feel envious in the first place.

2. Choose Carefully — Who to Follow and Who to Leave Behind

Identify the people who inspire you positive way and promote the desire to grow. Friends, family, and even celebrities who share motivating messages can be great role models.

On the other hand, it is also essential to identify who makes you feel “bad envy”. Turning off notifications, unfollowing or even blocking people who constantly provoke negative feelings is a healthy action. Remember: you have control over what you consume on your social networks.

3. Moderation — the secret to balance

As with many aspects of life, moderation is important when it comes to social media. While posts can inspire and motivate, they can also trigger negative and malicious feelings.

It is crucial to be aware of these two types of envy and channel that energy into self-improvement.

Remember that if you feel jealous, the person in question is probably in a similar situation to you, regardless of what social media may suggest.

Be in control of your emotions on social media, take advantage of “good envy” as a motivator and leave “bad envy” behind. Take advantage of time on social media to be inspired, learn and grow.

It's time to claim your power over this and use this tool to boost your own development guys.
