The boy's mother, known as Leinie Power, attributed these symptoms to hormonal changes normal for Archie's age, just as she thought it could be the influence of screens damaging her son's vision.
As a result, the family believed that Archie needed an ophthalmologist to possibly use corrective glasses.
In an interview with Manchester Evening News, Leinie shared his journey, revealing that the boy's headache attacks were constant and, therefore, they decided to take him to a specialist. The family's decision saved the young man's life.
After a visit to the emergency room, Leinie chose to take Archie for a simple eye assessment at a UK optician chain. She highlights that this decision had a significant impact on her son's life.
During the consultation, doctors identified swelling in the optic nerves, raising concerns about the possibility of cerebral edema.
After the ophthalmological consultation, the family was taken to the hospital, where another specialist confirmed the swelling of the optic nerves and recommended an emergency CT scan.

The scan results revealed a grade one tumor in Archie's brain. As a result, the boy was directed to undergo surgery urgently.
Fortunately, the operation was successful and the benign tumor was completely removed from the teenager.
Treatment was then started to drain excess fluid from his brain. Currently, the boy is in the recovery phase at his home and will continue to be closely monitored over the next five years to detect any possible return.
After going through this scare and distressing experience, Leinie made the decision to speak out about the matter and share her family's story.
Their goal is to raise awareness among other parents about the symptoms of brain tumors and offer support and information to those facing similar situations.
