The Truth About Withdrawal

Contrary to what many believe, the main reason is not just the risk of battery explosion, but the safety of passengers. The reason behind this practice is directly related to the ability to visualize and identify objects during inspection by X-ray.

According to experts such as Francisco Araújo Bomfim Júnior, professor of the Computer Networks course at Faculdade Impacta, notebooks and tablets have a series of components that make inspection by equipment difficult. X-ray.

These electronic devices contain cables, electronic circuit boards, batteries, and metal electromagnetic shields, making inspection more complex than it appears.

The professor highlights that notebooks are not completely “transparent” to X-rays, which means they can camouflage prohibited items.

The measure of removing notebooks and tablets from suitcases in the X-ray aims, above all, to protect passengers and prevent crimes or threats at airports.

Euclides Lourenço Chuma, senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and researcher at Linköping University, Sweden, highlights that, due to the relatively large size of notebooks, it would be possible to hide dangerous objects under these devices without them being identified.

The implementation of this measure seeks to increase the visibility of items in the suitcase during inspection, making it easier to detect potential threats and reinforcing security on domestic and international.

Therefore, although it is understandable that removing notebooks from the suitcase can be seen as a nuisance, it is essential to understand the importance of this action to ensure a safetrip safer and more peaceful for everyone. Travelers' help and understanding are fundamental to the success of airport security measures.

By following the instructions of security agents and cooperating during the inspection process, each passenger contributes to the efficiency of the procedure and collective protection.

So the next time you're told to unpack your laptop, remember that you're playing a role in keeping all your passengers safe.
